I. Introduction to Alloy Cables
alloy
TheJoCA Alloy isanaluminumalloy conductorspecifically developed by Jiukai for low-voltage distribution cableapplications.Itis designatedas AA8030by the Aluminum Associationandbelongs to the80o0 series aly. The U.S.NEC\*standard explicitly stipulates that aluminum ally cables for buildings must utilize alloys from the 8000 series.
conductivity
When comparing cables of identical specifications, the conductivity of JocA alloy conductors is 6 1 % of that ofth e most commonly used International Annealed Copper Standard (IACS).However, forthe same volume, aluminumw eighsapproximatelyone-thirdas muchascopper.Basedonthiscalculation, forequivalent electricalperformance, acable madeof JocAaloywith thesame weight would require twice the length of acopper cable.Consequently,th eweightofaJoCAalloycableis half thatofacoppercable with thesamecurrent-carrying capacity. When thecon ductorcross-sectionalareaof theallycable is1.5times thatofacoppercore, itselectricalperformance isess entially comparable.Replacing coppercableswith JoCAalloycablesreduces cable weight, correspondinglylower sinstallationcosts, minimizes damage toequipmentand cables, and simplifies instalation procedures.
Anti-creepperfor
ThespecializedaloyformulationandheattreatmentprocessofJoCAaloycablessignificantlyreduce the"crep"tendencyo fmetalsunderheatand pressure.TheelectricalconnectionsofJOCAaloycableconductorsareasstableas thosemadewithco pperconductors.
coefficientofexpansion due to heat
Thecoefficientof thermalexpansionisused tocalculatethedimensionalchangesof materialsundertemperature variations.ThethermalexpansioncoeficientofJCAalloycableisslightlyhigher thanthatofcopper;underthesamet emperature conditions,it exhibits a slightly greater expansion or contraction compared to copper.
In China, theconnection terminals recommended by JOCA Cable haveall passed theGB/T9327-2008 (revised to adoptEC61238)0o-cyclethermalcyclingtestdemonstratingthereliablitofJoCACable'selectricalconnectionsthrough practicalevidence.Moreover,theuseofcopper-aluminumtransitionterminalshascompletelyresolvedthethermalexpansion issues atthe junctions of the two metalsand the electrochemical corosionproblems between copperand aluminum.
Connection Performance
Thealloycompositionof JoCAaloyconductorshassignificantly enhanced theirconnectionperformance, which ist hefundamental reason for theirapproval as ACMconductor materials.Theaddition of appropriate ironelements,in particular, greatlyimproves creepresistance, ensuring connectionstabilityevenunderprolongedoverloadandoverheating conditions.Whenusedwithterminalconnectorssubjectedto1,000thermalcyclesperGB/T9327-2008 (revisedtocomply withEC61238),thisfundamentallyguaranteeslong-termconnectionstabilityandreliability—thesolecriterionfor evaluatingconnectionquality.Infact, testingfurtherconfirms that, wheninstalldinaccordancewithspecifications,JoCA alloy cableshave never experiencedanyfailures during theirapplications todate.Theconnectionsof JoCAaloycablesn eed notand should not be frequentlytightened,as this would compromise their connection performance.
The excellent performance of JiuKai alloy cables is unparalleled.
Compared to JoCA alloy cables, AA-1350 pure aluminum offers:
The tensile strength has increased by 53%. ←The anti-creep and compression properties have been improved by 300%.
After annealing
-A 12 1 % increaseinyield strength-A 3 0 % improvement in elongationrate -Enhanced ductility of the alloy
The electrical conductivity is basically identical.
The rebound is reduced by 40%,with no memory effect observed. heat endurance
Corrosion resis
Thecorrosionresistanceofaloyconductors stems fromtheimmediate formationofathin, denseoxide layer when thealloysurfacecomes intocontact withair.Thisoxide layerexhibits exceptionalresistance tovarious formsofcorrosion. Theally'sabilitytowithstand harshenvironments makesitwidelyusedasconductors forcables within trays,as wellas innumerous industrialcomponentsandcontainers.Corrosiontypicallyoccurs when diferentmetalsareexposed toeach otherinhumid conditions;appropriate protectivemeasures—suchas theapplicationof lubricants, antioxidants, and protective coatings—canpreventitsoccurrence.Directly buried aluminum conductors should beequipped with insulation orsheathing layerstopreventcorrosion.Insulfur-containing environments, suchasrailwaytunnels, wastewatertreatment facilities, andsimilarsetings, alloysdemonstrate significantlysuperiorcorrosionresistancecompared to copper.
